Catholic church recently converged at Kutama College for the national youth conference which was held under the theme “The Might One has done great things for me and holy is his name”.

The conference is held after every four years.

Speaking in an interview with RelZim at the conference that drew around 3 200 youths from across the country, the national youth council chairperson, Tendai Karombo, youths from all parts of the country to celebrate the gift of life.

“We gather youth from all the parts of the country and have a theme that we mark the celebrations with. We celebrate the gift of live that he has given us. All the good things that he has done for us,” Miss Karombo said.

Karombo said the previous conference was held in Hwange.

Jesuits Communications Officer, Kuda Matambo,  said they take advantage of such platforms to educate youths about issues that affect their lives like elections and the environment.

“We hope to continuously engage young people not just on issues of elections but in all issues that affect their lives such as environment, issues to do with economics and spiritual formation because the Catholic church says ‘we need to work for the common good,” Matambo said.
