The Jehovah’s Witnesses Church last week embarked on a door to door campaign to invite people to its annual conference that will be held over the weekend.
The church is targeting around 10 000 congregants for the two conventions that will be held concurrently in Gweru and Kwekwe.
This year’s Convention will be held under the theme ‘Never give up’.
“Jehovah’s Witnesses in the Midlands Province have embarked on a massive door to door campaign inviting over 10 000 people to their annual convention to be held concurrently at Gweru Polytechnic and Kwekwe High School from Sept 1-3.
“Attendees can expect to enjoy Bible talks, interviews, short videos and a three-part feature film titled Remember the Wife of Lot which will help families live happily in a troubled world,” the release reads.
The Convention will start on the 1st of September and end on the 3rd of September, 2017 at two venues in the Midlands province.
Convention Committee spokesperson Richard Hove said that preparations for the convention were at an advanced stage.
“Plans to host delegates at both venues are at an advanced stage. The programme features a film that will be serialised over the three days to help families live a happy life now in spite of challenges they may be facing,” said Hove.
There are over 8.3 million Jehovah’s Witnesses spanning 240 countries of the world with Zimbabwe being host to over 45 000 of them. They spend close to 12 million hours annually sharing the good news from the Bible with their neighbours.
