Volunteers from the Lafayette-Orinda Presbyterian Church in the US state of California are making plans to launch a micro-finance program to make loans that provide a more sustainable future to young entrepreneurs as they “age out” of an orphanage in Mutoko, Mashonaland East.

There is hope that they are inspired by an upcoming visit and talk by one of the founders of the Mother of Peace orphanageStella Cornneck (aka Sister Stella), at the church, said John Weems, the pastor for outreach and missions at LOPC.

In the orphanage program, the church partners with Dr. Daniel Robbins of Lamorinda Pediatrics, who is executive director of the JF Kapnek Trust.
