The Roman Catholic Bishop of Masvingo Michael Dixon Bhasera, who is also the acting Bishop for Gweru Diocese, ordained 10 priests.

The function held at Mkoba Stadium in Gweru was attended by hundreds of peolpe from different cities and towns.

Bishop Bhasera urged the newly ordained reverends to be resilient. “God will tremendously bless you  for voluntering and dedicating yourselves to be reverends. You should be courageous enough  to face and conquer challenges that may arise while ministering the Lord’s work,” he said.

The ordained priests are Henry Kudzai, Ochiward Phiri, Peter Chanetsa, Batsirai Mathew Marimbe, Andrew Matenga, Lanel Moyo, Robert Mudzingwa, Cephas Mufakose, Herbet Tichaona and William Collen Sakala.

Some of the reverends came from as far as Zvishavane, Shurugwi, Lower Gweru, Kwekwe, Chiundura and Zhombe.

The ordination date was moved not to coincide with the leading party Zanu-PF National Annual conference that was also held in Gweru.
