Gospel lovers are in for an early New Year treat. Kwekwe in Midlands Province will host Charles and Olivia Charamba in an end-of-year show at the National Mining Museum in Kwekwe on December 29.
In a telephone interview with Relzim.org, Harare-based Olivia Charamba confirmed the show. “We are definitely coming to perform in Kwekwe. In fact it has become a norm to host a show in Kwekwe every year. It is only that this year we have changed the venue to cater for every individual as compared to the past years when we have performed at the Mbizo stadium,” she said.
Olivia Charamba has urged people to come in large numbers, “I encourage people to attend the show so that together we can praise God for the wonderful work he has done in our lives during the year. We will be playing some of our fans favourite songs such ‘Africa,’ ‘Rute,’ ‘Tengai Mafuta,’ ‘Buruka Mweya,’ ‘Mhinduro Iripo’ only to mention but a few.”
Charles Charamba now has nine albums to his name. His spouse has produced three albums to date. She always backs her husband in his songs.
Gracious Banda, a fan of Olivia Charamba, expressed joy over the coming show. “I have been listening to the Charambas for quite a long time now. I strongly believe that they are the best gospel musicians we have in the country. And for them to come and perform in Kwekwe is amazing.
I urge people to come and listen to real gospel music,” said Banda.
