Fresh from hosting a successful concert at the Harare International Conference Centre, plans are afoot for Zimpraise Choir to go on a national tour in September.

Zimpraise Choir, an interdenominational group made up of youthful musicians, will start their tour in Gweru, moving to Bulawayo and on to Victoria Falls. The choir will take a short break before heading to Mutare, Masvingo and then wind up their tour in Harare.

Those who attended their first concert in Harare will remember not only how the choir thrilled a capacity crowd but also drew some of the most influential church leaders, among them Prophet Emmanuel Makandiwa of the UFIC, Dr Goodwill Shana as well as Dr Aspher Madziyire, president of Apostolic Faith Mission Zimbabwe.

It was not only music as the concert saw some of the luminaries in gospel being honoured. They were: Pastor Lawrence Haisa, Elias Musakwa, Rita Shoniwa, Gospel Trumpet, Shower Power, Caroline Mujokoro, Vabati VaJehovah, and Fungisai Zvakavapano-Mashavave.

Popular artists of the likes of rapper Mudiwa Mtandwa, Pastor G, Kudzi Nyakudya, Tembalami and Sebastian Magacha also took turns to entertain gospel music lovers. However, it was the legendary Baba Machanic Manyeruke who stole the show with an amazing act. Manyeruke, who was conferred with an award for his role as a living legend, made his presence felt at the concert by a delivering a flawless show.

Joseph Madziyire, the president and brains behind the Zimpraise Choir, said the concert was a resounding success as it brought people from various denominations to worship in song and dance.
“We continue to pray for such events where Christians unite and worship as a family. Quite honestly, it was a huge success and we are now looking at touring around Zimbabwe so that more people get inspired. We have partnered with other sponsors like Chicken Slice, G-Tel, First Mutual and 4 May to ensure that the tour is a success,” he said.
