The Daily News reports that Prophet Emmanuel Makandiwa ushered his United Family International (UFI) church into a new prophetic season at the historic all-night prayer on New Year’s eve at the mega 30 000-seater structure near Chitungwiza Town Centre.
Business came to a halt as most traffic headed towards the UFI church in Chitungwiza. Commuter omnibus operators got a chance to make a killing as they raised fares to US$2.
The event was scheduled to start at 8pm but people from all provinces countrywide were at the venue as early as 9am.
The event was also graced by people from Australia, the United States of America, the Democratic Republic of Congo and other neighbouring countries.
The night was packed with events. Gospel musicians like Mahendere Brothers, Diva Mafunga, Gospel Power, Joyce Simeti, Hubert Chigumira, Mrs Banda and other musicians raised the level of praise and worship.
The man of God did not disappoint, he unveiled this year’s theme “the Year of Results”, gave prophecies to individuals as well as the congregation.
Basing on the scripture from the Book of Esther 2 verse 12 the prophet gave people tools to equip them in their journey in 2012.
There were no incidents reported as there was tight security from UFI church as well as Zimbabwe Republic Police.
Makandiwa’s spiritual father Prophet Victor Kusi Boateng from Ghana put the icing on the cake by making powerful declarations of blessings upon the people via teleconference.
Farai Matara, a Nursing Science student at the University of Zimbabwe, expressed shock at the level of anointing that was at the venue. “I have never seen so many demons cry out and so many people healed as I have seen tonight.”
Elsewhere in the capital, many churches conducted all-night prayers and they were full to capacity for example Christ Embassy near City Sports Centre as well as Prophet Angel‘s Spirit Embassy at the City Sports Centre.
