Gospel star Mathias Mhere will shoot some scenes of the Nguva Yenyasha DVD on his forthcoming tour of South Africa.
Mhere will begin his maiden tour across the Limpopo in Johannesburg on Friday where he will share the stage with South African gospel musicians, including Winnie Mashaba.
The Nguva Yenyasha DVD, that also features popular Sabhuku Vharazipi actors David Mubaiwa and Kumbirai Chikonye, is being directed by National Arts Merit Awards (Nama) video category winner Willard ‘Slimaz’ Magombedze.
Mhere told the Daily News yesterday that he would take advantage of his South African tour to incorporate scenes from that country into his DVD compilation.
“I am looking forward to shooting a video of Idya Tafura while in South Africa. I am going with Slimaz, my video director to South Africa,” said Mhere.
“I am convinced that the DVD is going to make a positive impact on the market upon release.
“Everything is going according to plan and we expect to release the DVD on the market next month.”
Nguva Yenyasha, produced by star gospel music producer Lyton Ngolomi, is composed of songs like Ziya Rangu, Idya Tafura, Pamazuva Angu, Mhandu Yako, Number Busy, Ndiyani Akuzarurira, Mweya Mutsvene and Musangano.
Gutu-born Mhere told the Daily News that all the eight songs on his latest album will be included on the forthcoming DVD compilation.
Mhere’s other albums are the blockbuster Anoita Minana and his 2007 debut offering Tinoda Nyasha.
