Mkhululi Bhebhe the first Zimbabwean to ever join Joyous Celebration of South Africa has an album in the making which is likely to come out later this year.

Bhebhe stole the limelight when he appeared singing for Joyous Celebration in 2010 his hit song ‘Tambira Jehovah.’

Speaking to Relzim.org, Bhebhe confirmed the album is in the making and expressed optimism that the album will be well received by his legion of fans. “I am in the middle of doing a solo project with much of the recording already complete. New ideas pop up on a daily basis. But for now I’m just building on what I already have,”Bhebhe said.

The solo project has been his dream and the musician believes it is God who placed it upon his heart. “I always knew that God would elevate me musically. But never did I imagine that he would take me this high for just choosing to be obedient to His word. That alone gives the drive and reason to bow down on my knees to worship God all the days of my life.”

Bhebhe joined Joyous Celebration a year after participating in the Idols Africa, alongside Eric Moyo who was the eventual winner.

The former ‘A’ Academy star’s popularity has increased over the years and he says that his fans all over the world are fond of Zimbabwean music. “It’s amazing how South Africa and the whole world are embracing Zimbabwean music. In every city we have toured around South Africa, the masses just can’t get enough of ‘Ichokwadi.’ ..The world is hungry for pure African sound.”

The album by Bhebhe is said to hit the streets in December.
