Outspoken pastor Wilson Mugabe, Director of Christian Action Trust, has encouraged Harare residents to spare a day to fast for the 30 incarcerated MDC-T members.
Some of the MDC-T members have been in remand prison for 18 months awaiting trial. “It is important to spare a day together as Harare province or all our members in Harare to fast for a day praying to God so that God can intervene,” Mugabe said.
The state claims Glen View policeman, Petros Mutedza, was killed by the MDC-T members at a local pub. But the party denies the charges and insists the arrests were a plot by Zanu-PF party to destabilize their structures.
Pastor Mugabe said that, at the end of the day, God’s justice will be revealed. “To all the relatives of the incarcerated, we are with you and God’s justice will be revealed.”
Pastor Mugabe (no relation to Zimbabwe’s president) has been targeted numerous times for his outspoken opposition to the ruling Zanu-PF.
