The Sacred Heart of Jesus guild (SHJ) gathered for feast days at St Michael’s Mission Mhondoro from the 7th-10th of August under the theme; “Rejoicing in Sorrow”.

During choir competitions, Dzivarasekwa took the trophy for the best Choir. Participants also engaged in sports and cultural activities.

An added attraction was a mock wedding and exhibition of different cultures through song and dance. A number of priests also graced the occasion.

Brother Mark from St Michael’s Mission encouraged guild members to always be cheerful, most of all when things were not going well for them. He also encouraged the faithful to pray all the time and remember that things would not always go as planned.

Archdiocese of Harare Sacred Heart Guild secretary, Ruth Ndoorwi said the feast was very interesting than previous years. “We had the most spiritual time with benediction and masses and the theme talk was spiritual too,” she said.
