She also becomes the second female archbishop in Africa after Archbishop Margaret Benson-Idahosa, wife of the late Archbishop of the Church of God Mission International of Nigeria.
Dr Guti, who is the wife of ZAOGA founder Apostle Professor Ezekiel Guti, will work alongside her husband in overseeing church leadership. She will also continue to operate as a prophetess and an evangelist.
ZAOGA secretary-general Dr Washington Rupapa confirmed the elevation of Dr Guti at an International Pastors’ Conference held in Harare. “This move comes as a welcome development. Our mother has become a spiritual mother to many female bishops around the country and more than forty others abroad who accepted her as such.”
He said four new bishops were also ordained to manage ministries in Zimbabwe, Malawi and Botswana.
