The Anglican Church of the Province of Central Africa (CPCA) says it is waiting for a letter from the Supreme Court to enable it to move back to its properties in Manicaland that are currently in the hands of renegade Bishop Elson Jakazi.

Jakazi, who along with Nolbert Kunonga pulled from the CPCA in 2007, has not yet released the Anglican church properties.

In an interview with RelZim.org, Anglican Bishop Sebastian Bakare said he does not want to take the course that was taken by Jakazi of forcibly removing people from the church and will take the legal route. “We are waiting for a letter from the Supreme Court so that we would take it to the police, who would, in turn, remove people who have taken over our church properties. We do not want to take the law into our hands. But we expect the law to take its course.”

Last week the Supreme Court reversed judgment on the Anglican ownership wrangle that has been dragging for five years now.
